Hello, Cloud Escape here! This is my first time joining BMS of Fighters, and I've been eyeing this competition since last year (since I missed out on the deadline lol). It was just last year when I discovered this competition when I was listening to different songs with BGA. I was curious what are the "BOFXVII" or the "G2R2018" that I've been reading in the descriptions so I decided to dig on this deeper and that's how I discovered that this kind of competitions exists!
"Take Control" is the very first song that I decided want to put out in this event. When I finished this some months before the announcement of BOF:ET was made, I did not intend to post it, but when this opportunity came, I figured it's a perfect fit, so I did.
This whole song is inspired by Camellia's "Final-Boss-Chan" especially the drop. Consisting of Dubstep/Riddim basses and fast Bass shots. The use of some Orchestral elements such as Strings and Horns depict impending battle as a substitute for electric guitars in Camellia's song.

I personally thought it was cool because it's a very grand and heavy song. I was really happy to be in charge of BGI.
When the composer told me that the concept of the song was to fight with the final boss of the game, I thought about setting the dragon as the final boss and the knight as the player. As a result, it was a good decision. The dragon's attack was painted with a red flash and the knight's sword in blue to show that it had contrasting properties.

굉장히 웅장하고 묵직한 느낌의 곡이라 개인적으로 멋지다고 생각했습니다. BGI를 담당하게 되어서 정말 기뻤어요.
작곡가님이 곡의 컨셉이 게임의 최종보스를 상대하는 것이다 라는 이야기를 해주셨을 때 용을 최종보스로, 기사를 플레이어로 설정하자는 생각을 했습니다. 결과적으로 괜찮은 결정이었습니다. 드래곤의 공격을 붉은색의 섬광으로, 기사의 검을 푸른색으로 그려서 서로 대조되는 속성을 지녔음을 나타내고자 했습니다.

曲の展開が滑らかなところが印象深かったです。
Another(11)の場合はスクラッチを積極的に活用しましたが、この点も目立ちました。 いいですね。

BGI가 곡과 잘 어울리는지는 잘 모르겠습니다. BGI는 뭔가 보스와의 전투 같은 느낌인데 덥스텝 곡이 이런데에 어울린다는 생각은 잘 들지 않네요.

패턴 자체는 무난하였으나 키음 볼륨이 너무 커서 깨져서 들리고, 칩튠 구간이 생각보다 곡과 잘 어울리지 않는 것 같습니다.

The constant build-up and the BGI give the impression of a battle track, which is pretty cool. I like the bass noises in the drops, but I thought the melodies and "epic" bits (horns + big drums) etc were too unconvincing in execution for me. I think it's a good start for this style of track though? At the very least the chart is fun!
For the "epic" bits you will want hits with more higher frequencies, I think. Layering may help. (Most people just use kontakt libraries for that stuff, but that might be a tall order.)
The final score will be "3 out of 10".
This will use a stricter scoring system compared to previous years.
