Hello! I'm Baby Zionov. I've been DJing and producing eccentric pop and dance music for 6 or 7 years, but this is my first ever BMS!
I've also been playing rhythm games since I was a small child, and they've had a really profound influence on my life. After 20 years of playing, it was a really cathartic experience to finally have a song, chart, and BGA that were all my own!

The song is a cute, gentle dance tune that starts off a little bit moody and morphs over time into something more groovy and jovial. When I started making it, the original intention was actually to make something sort of "cyber" themed, but I started playing with the idea of using samples of various bugs and insects for sound effects and background percussion. As a result, the finished product ended up feeling more like a muggy rainforest, but I think it's a particularly happy and lively rainforest. For some reason, I became adamant that the song is about frogs, even though there aren't actually any frog sounds in it, LOL.

The BGA follows the theme of frogs, bugs, and rainforests. I don't have much experience with video editing, so I aimed for something that feels a little bit retro and nostalgic. All the materials come from royalty-free stock footage and image repositories, and I'm very grateful to the creators of those resources!

For the charts, I focused on making fun patterns with a strong rhythm to them. I've included a base file, so please feel free to make your own charts and sabuns.

SP/PMS 各譜面をプレイさせて頂きました。

ジャンル名からはどういう曲か全然想像がつかなかったのですが、触れてみるとものすごく納得できてしまいました。テーマ選びが秀逸…！
カエルのネイチャーなイメージとコミカルな姿形とが、ジャンルのノリの違いそのものに直結するような、素晴らしい対比になっていると思います。
レイヤー(BGA) を使ったカエルダンスは、BMS特有の表現がローポリの時代感とマッチして生かされていてハイセンス！
ジャンル的な変化と連動していることも相まって、環境映像からの一転ぶりに思わず視線を移してしまう、中毒的な魅力がありました。

曲の方では全体的な雰囲気・音選びが超大好きです。(IIDX で私の大好きな) ELEKTEL 氏や、高田雅史氏 (Cube シリーズ) を彷彿させる感じがするんですよね…！
カエルダンス地帯の低音ベースでノリノリに仕上がってきた所に反芻される高音のアルペジオは特に最高です・・・

PMS譜面につきまして、全体的に打鍵感がとても良くて、 Baby Zionov さんらしい(?) 形重視の配置が光っている所がたくさんあるなあと思いました。
特に H-EX #041-048 上下段の分割配置や連打は、見た目にインパクトのある配置として、曲調の転換点を強調しているのが印象的でした。
EX譜面後半のアルペジオは綺麗に割れているので、1音1音区別してパーカッション叩きするのが気持ち良かったです。
ただ、EX譜面 イントロ / アウトロの単発ノートはさすがにアルペジオ地帯のような規則を見出せる密度ではないため、やや音階無視の違和感の方が際立って感じます。
H譜面の方は音階重視に配置されているので、何か意図があるのかな？ という気もするのですが！

SPはPMSに比べて王道的に音階重視、素直に配置されている感じがしました。特にSPHの音取りと緩急のバランスが素晴らしかったです。
SPA は1キック固定の混フレで、グルーヴを一番堪能できました。
どの音取りを優先したいか好みの問題ですが、#065 からは逆にキックを動かして、アルペジオの階段を全音叩かせても良い味変になるかもしれません。

今年の大会で触れさせていただいた作品中で、一番個人的な好みに刺さったエントリーでした…！

まさかの実写

いきなりBGAに実写のカエルが出てきて笑いました。
神秘的でありながらカエルが跳ねて鳴いているような情景を思わせる音遣いが丁寧で、味わい深い作品でした。
[HYPER] LN+皿で「ん？」となりましたが、全体的に楽しい譜面で良かったです。跳ねリズムが楽しい！

独自性の強い楽曲で音色が心地よくミックスもすっきりしており雰囲気作りも完璧。
BGAも音合わせが抜群な上にかわいらしくも面白く仕上がっており最高。
譜面も大人しめながら打鍵感も配置も抜群で全方位に隙がなくてすごかったです。

急にカエルが経ちながら踊る姿を見て笑ってしまいました・・・ｗ
ミックスがうまくてすごく整って聞こえる！実際パーカッションや様々な音の使い方が、雨だったりRainForestのような感じを受けました！そしてカエルもいるように感じました・・・！
そんなイメージがより一層強まるようなBGAにもなっているので見てて聴いてて楽しかったです！

I really like the scene where the frogs start dancing.
The glitchy sound that seems to be processed from the sound of water is pleasant to listen to. I feel a goodness that is hard to describe.

[SPH]今まで聞いたことのない独特の曲調に、独特のリズム。譜面もそれを表していてあまり見ない配置とリズムの譜面でかなり新鮮でした。
私はレベル相応の難易度に感じたのですがもしかしたら個人差譜面かもしれません。
BGAも実写画像＋かわいいカエルのレイヤーでかなりの異彩を放っていました。
今回のカエル枠。やっぱりカエルはかわいいです。

Somewhat old-school yet uplifting. It's also astonishingly atmospheric, of course.
For my part, I never imagined that I would be able to hear such unique and solid club music like this work at MUMEI ACADEMY, so I was taken aback when I first played it.
This kind of work would be rare even if not for MUMEI ACADEMY. That's because most artists who create such works are now gone.
So this is reminiscent of past electronic BMS works in that sense. And that is what makes this work interesting to me. But that does not mean it is a rehash. This work is unlike anything I have ever played before.
I especially like how the contrasting composition of the dreamy atmosphere and the heavy club kick work well together. These're modest at a glance but pretty impressive.
That's why I think this work deserves appreciation. I will put this on my loved list.

ヤバい！！！！！！！！！！！！！！

独特だけどなんか癖になる、そんな印象のある不思議な作品でした！

この手のジャンル、個人的にはあまり聴いてきていないのでどうなんだろうなぁって最初は思ってました…
ただ、曲を聴いてみると音がとても気持ち良くて驚いたんですよね…ｗ
自然の雄大さとか、使われている音から感じられる浮遊感。 何から何まで個人的に好きな点が押さえられていたのでもうこれは！となりましたねｗ
そして展開もしっかりメリハリがありましたし、ノらせてほしい部分でちゃんとノらせてくれるのが良かったです！

譜面も楽しかったですし、映像がこれまた雰囲気抜群！
カエル？って最初はなりましたけどまぁタイトルもそうだし…ってことで納得。途中いきなり踊りだした時は笑いましたがｗｗ

このジャンルの新たなスタイルを見ることが出来たので（個人的にですが）、そういう意味でも満足していますｗ

I like the song. Very chill and catchy, and kind of magical.
The subtle ambient background sounds also a nice touch. Given the track name, it makes me think of a course in an early 3D racing game where different ambient SFX play depending on the player's position relative to different setpieces in the course. The BGA also adds to this sense of environmental traversal! And I think the 3D GIFs add to the "video game" side?

One thing I found odd - in the intro, I thought the lead instrument and the pad overlap in terms of frequency in a way that sounds kind of muddy, so I thought that part might benefit from different EQ cuts / volume leveling so the lead can stand out more.
I also thought that the stereo field could have been used in a more interesting way. This can be compensated for by slapping on ozone imager or whatever, but it's worth considering techniques like hard-panned layers for hats, etc. It might have been nice to give the splash-like percussion samples (the one that's mostly noticeable during the outro) different panning on different notes or something, so that they sound more dynamic.

Despite these nitpicks, though, the direction, atmosphere and writing of the track are all a success for me, so it's very pleasant to listen to.

全体を通して見た時の浮遊感、そして言葉に表す事すら無粋な「こういう…そうこう…こういうの良いよね…」が詰まった大変魅力的な楽曲と感じました
調に囚われないコード進行であり、全部メジャーじゃないんだぞと最後にマイナーで陰りを見せる、そういったコード選択も非常に見事であり、またプラックを効果的に時折混ぜる事で、静かに没入できる感覚がありました
パッドのほかに、グルーヴを作るうえで大切なキックの音色やベースのノリ等もよくよく作り込まれており、繰り返し聴きたくなる魅力がありました
