nitro - [line:ζ] ("line-zeta")

Hello, nitro here. I made this song in 2019 for SFes2019. You may have seen some of my previous songs in BOF in the [line] series. To me, the series is all about having fun with music composition and not taking anything seriously, so that true creativity can flow. It started out that way, but as I continued to participate in BOF up until 2018, the purpose became grander, ambitions were high, and standards even higher. I realised I wasn't happy trying to make my best work, because the pressure of having to create my "next best thing" was too great. This is why I took a break from BOF in 2019.
This year, I decided to return to BOF, but only if I did so without worrying about high quality standards, or the pressure of trying to succeed. So I simply took a previous song and keysounded it for BOFXIV. I'm slowly trying to learn how to have fun with BMS charting again.
There's no real meaning in any of this. We're all just trying to have fun. Please enjoy.

(Thank you for your hard work.)

I enjoyed SP/DP/PMS charts.
Since I usually enjoy mainly PMS, it's a very pleasant surprise to see that in this nitro's numbering work!
The dynamic actions of PMS gives me the sensation of feeling the rhythm in my body and the particular adrenaline rush. The more unique the rhythm, the greater this impression will be.
I'd like to see more chemistry with nitro's unique groove in PMS-world more to come, so I'll write especially PMS chart's impression in support of you...!
9K-H was a very playful chart.
It incorporates special hand switches and is very good as a PMS where the personality of the original chart is paramount.
#059- I think the placement of the LN, especially on the end side, was accurate. I'm amazed at how it was adjusted to take into account realistic hand movement speeds when cross-pressing and not be unreasonable. It's a placement pattern I've never seen before, and I found it personally helpful.
#073- The left hand traveling-pattern was also easy with an 8-bit rhythm, and the lane division was thought out without triggering POOR/BAD. In contrast, #075- is a right-handed trip pattern, which clearly conveyed that it was designed with the balance between left and right in mind, which made it more interesting and compelling, I think.
The LN-PMS's placement method should be a bit lack in reference (including the AC), so I have the impression that nitro have an AC-sized testplay environment and made with try-and-error. It's too sophisticated...awesome.
#041- 32bit I like the placement of the mains, which is also very aggressive. It's interesting that it's closer to the left and right sides, and it's a tricky move that requires a high degree of force to handle the 4,5,6 buttons with one hand. This part of the game was the hardest part, and from there on out, the difficulty of LN recovery provided a high level of gameplay.
The placement of the first half of the song itself was accurate as H46, with moderate variations in the shaken movements and adjacent presses. Most of all, I feel the shuffle groove part of this song is so cool that I want to try it again and again.
However, compared to #041-, I felt that the previous parts were much easier and less density, and I think it would be interesting to place the notes at the same level as in the first half of SPA. By doing so, I think the whole thing is likely to be unified into about EX48 and the first half of the game is a normal sequence / the second half is a difficult part of the LN sequence, which would add variety.
Also, we've seen in previous BMS that #TOTAL is not set, but it would be even better if you set it as a balance, since it can give a different gameplay-impression depending on each BMS-player. In the case of PMS, you can safely set it to TOTAL 300-350 (In BMSON, maybe 60-70%).
I've seen SP/DP get mixed reviews for its experimental charting with a lot of BSS, but I felt it was part of nitro's "fun with BMS charting again", including this PMS challenge. Personally, I enjoyed the SPH moderately, and I thought it was a BMS-unique idea to superimpose a normal note on the endpoint of DP's BSS. But it was too early for me! lol
Anyway, I believe that sharp chart can only come through ingenuity, and I think it's great that it fits the song. A variety of BMS is what makes BOF fun.
(I would also like to play with the original PMS chart on our YouTube channel...!) Thanks for your production!

Despite good sound/drop design the repetitiveness of the chord stabs and lack of melodic variety make it feels like not much actually happens in 2 and a half minutes; I remember having similar issues with previous line songs so it may be a deliberate choice on the part of the artist that isn't to my personal preference.
Aside from that everything is fairly solid on a technical level. The bass sounds good and I like the section with the hard kicks, I just wish the call and response afterwards was more different from the what had already been played. Basically a fine song but not my taste?
I played the 7K HYPER pattern and it was OK.
