Also, it is understandable because I also want to do an Extratone BMS project, but I am temporarily abandoning it because of the difficulty about the big BPM change.
Composition is great, but in sections where it's just the lead playing melodies over the kick, the song is rather empty in the 200-300 frequencies. Various things you could consider doing:
- The kick is only ever playing one note, so it might be good to either add in a tonal bass as a "tail" that plays different notes, or mess around with something like having a bass lead playing the melody at and octave or two lower and see if you can get that to sound good.
- It might be helpful to buff up the kick in the 200-300 range and have the high filter chop off a little less from the pads + choir so that there's some frequencies around 200-300 going on in the side image, but not enough to interfere with the really low bass frequencies and sub. (If you use a plugin like MSED + a visual EQ to check the stereo image of tracks by prominent doujin speedcore and hardcore producers, eg Kobaryo, DJ Myosuke, m1dy etc, there's usually quite a lot of activity in those ranges in the stereo image whereas here there is very little. Basically, when cutting low frequencies to leave room for the bass please take care not to go overboard and make the song sound empty)
Other nitpick is that the trap section is kinda quiet (drums don't stand out at all).
It's unfortunate because other than those issues the song is actually extremely good (cool sounding kicks, lots of variety which is good for a rhythm game, good songwriting), but the aforementioned bass issue makes the song sound not quite as good as it could be.
Played the 7K HYPER, pattern seems fine, maybe a little easy for a 10 until the end.
