Daniel Rotwind here and... I never really used this name for any work yet, have I?
It has been a few years since I learned about BMS... maybe 2008? 09?
I even tried joining events in 2012 or 2013, though under a different username back then.
Since this is an event for relatively unknown artist, I decided to use a song I originally composed for my puzzle game, to show my usual style of music.
"Schneefall bei Nacht" is german and means "Snowfall at night", as I felt this track kinda embodies that feeling, especially when it's a starry night sky.
The BGA was an attempt to replicate the handdrawn sequential image style from early BMS.
This BGA also featured friends who helped me with my game, so I included them as a "special thanks".
I hope this song will be enjoyable to play, even if ambient-style music is uncommon in rhythm games nowadays.

Post Short Impression

The song has a nice, unique atmosphere!
The lo-fi textured sound was pleasant.
I think it would be better if the structure was a bit more complex, as it feels like the development is very simple.
The score wasn't hard, but it was a lot of fun!
It's also very kind of you to have several easy scores.

I played ☆1 and 7 charts.
The music was heartwarming. I see, this music seems to fit the BGM of a puzzle game.
The hand-drawn picture-story animation was very cute! I felt a wonderful story was drawn. The animal-like characters are adorable.
Basic Point 4.0
This song is suitable for a snowy night scene.
I also like the spirit of taking on sequential BMPs in my first BMS production.
I played NORMAL and ANOTHER pattern, they were not so fun because of the uncomfortable placement.
Good job !!!

Nice chilly song! I liked the atmosphere of the song.
Also the handdrawn sequential style BGAs were nice. (Another BMS creator from a furry kingdom?)
Soft sounds seemed to fit to the atmosphere of the song but I thought maybe the percussion sounds (especially the kicks) could be a bit louder. All the patterns seemed to be easy but I thought it matched with the "easy listening" style of the song.
Maybe this BMS was your work after a long absence, but if you were able to enjoy creating, I would like to look forward to seeing your next work again!
[I KNOW: Beginning Stage]
- There's not that much development, but what's there is pleasant.
- I like the bitcrushed pluck, it conveys a snowy and bustling atmosphere at the same time.
- Not sure if it's what you're going for, but maybe it's worth considering a snare that stands out more and has more reverb?
All scores will use the same fairly strict scale this time, regardless of class. (I apologize as scores for some classes may feel harsh...!)
[SPA] Very successful depiction of the snow world! Nice atmosphere with the BGA, and the pattern is okay.
I would probably suggest a thicker texture and some more ornaments. (special effects, instruments etc.) These facts will make your music sounds more vivid. Right now the music seems too minimal to me.
Danke für deine harte Arbeit.
Played pattern: 7A
Keysound Objects: 2.5/7.0
Total points: 8.0
Final PTS: 3 (C)
Comments: The minimal composition of the music would be fine for a puzzle game, but I think it would be better to arrange it into a "rhythm-game music" that can play more notes in an interesting way.
制作お疲れ様でした。(Thank you for your hard work.)
I played the Another chart.
And the BGA was really elaborate, very nice!
I think the overall atmosphere was soft and wonderful.
However, the rhythm section seemed small and in some parts it was hard to tell what the notes was sounding like.
Maybe you could turn it up just a bit more (as long as it doesn't ruin the atmosphere).
Thank you for your hard work on the production.
Base: 6 Music: +1 BGI: +1 Chart: +1 -> 9
Played: Normal, Another
I feel how "ambient-style" is great. That's not only about the music, but also about the animation, and charts.
The chart is not too hard, but not too easy still. I think this animation is so elaborated. Especially I like that images shown on the timing of last notes is different for each charts.
Also, I love the "warmth" of percussions in the music.
Only thing I thought is that Normal is too hard to be level 3.
