Since there was no readme file due to the use of a pseudonym, I'll take the time to explain the process behind the BMS now that the event is over.
This was intended to be the final MITCH DOWNVELL BMS released this year, so I wanted to make a boss song. I decided on an abrasive, noisy kind of breakcore for the genre because it seemed really fun and interesting to make, and also a fittingly mysterious style for MITCH DOWNVELL to make.
The MITCH DOWNVELL series to begin with was inspired by older and/or 5KEYS ONLY BMS, and this time the song was mostly influenced by BMS by tarolabo and ARMYTOM. I think the ARMYTOM inspiration doesn't come out so much in the music itself, but it's because of OMEGA IX that I wanted the "boss song" to be an intimidating song with a difficult level 9 pattern.
The music doesn't really have as much of an oldskool feeling this time, so I thought it was alright to include 7KEYS patterns. (The 7KEYS patterns were also included because it's the final BMS in a series, and I was worried if it was 5KEYS ONLY again people wouldn't notice it or play it...)
The concept this time was the permanence and impermanence of data, specifically in the context of an apocalypse. In the case of a modern era large-scale disaster that wipes out most of life on Earth, digitalized data would become humanity's clearest window into life before, and once beautiful pictures would begin to take on a new, more somber meaning. But data itself is subject to corruption and is not truly permanent...
With this in mind, the breakcore sections were written to have a surreal, intense atmosphere that feels like the end of the world, and the song was given an intro and ending that represent the pre- and post-calamity. Besides that, I felt the songwriting strayed a little from the theme, and because I ran out of time I wasn't able to put all the imagery I wanted in the BGA, so I think the theme ended up being mostly lost in the final BMS. However, as a piece of a music I'm mostly happy with the track overall.
The keysounded version of the breakbeats ended up being inaccurate because I couldn't get them to sound right without using up too many keysounds, so I put the track up on soundcloud now that the event's over.
As for the song's name, on a whim I named it in reference to 空読無 白眼's BMS "not MAKURA", but the songs themselves aren't alike. I used the kanji for SAKURA because I didn't want the two songs to look too similar on the song selection screen. (Incidentally, I'm pretty happy my 7K pattern for not MAKURA got into the satellite table.)
The intro and outro are not mapped to buttons in the 7K NORMAL and 7K HYPER patterns. This is a mistake.
Originally, I had asked C4 to make the another pattern, and my intention was to wait until the another pattern was done and copy his patterns for the intro and outro so that all difficulties would match. However, C4 had unfortunate IRL circumstances and wasn't able to make the pattern, and in my rush to get the entry uploaded in time for deadline I forgot to actually do anything.
Because of this, it seems some people who exit out as soon as the pattern ends didn't see the full song, which is unfortunate...
Also, c2i=2 was my pseudonym. ("i" is 2, and c2 is C4 with 2 removed, and "shiyo" with the i removed is "shyo" which is an anagram of "hyso")
It would have been too weird if MITCH DOWNVELL made 7keys charts, so it seemed best to use a different name for it.
Since I still wanted to have an ANOTHER pattern, I ended up asking NASA instead. The pattern is too difficult for me to play, but I liked what he did with the bar line, and it seems like he did a very good job overall. Thank you!
Anyway, that's all. Thank you for playing and leaving impressions!

(Thank you for your hard work.)

Thank you for your work.

Speaking of MITCH DOWNVELL, I was under the impression that he produced in a solid, austere style, so I was quite surprised to see his chaotic style coming out of nowhere. Of course, I'm a big fan of this kind of style.
By the way, if you change the "S" in the title "not SAKURA" to "M", it becomes "not MAKURA", which is my work, did you think about that? lol
